IRA Contribution Limits and Catch-ups

Annual Traditional or Roth IRA contribution limits are as follows:

• 2002 - 2004: $3,000
• 2005 - 2007: $4,000
• 2008 and thereafter $5,000 (indexed beginning in 2009)

IRA holders age 50 or older may contribute an amount in excess of the basic annual contribution, as follows:

• 2002 - 2005: $500
• 2006 and thereafter - $1,000
